Clea recently wrapped up an incredible month working with a stellar cast and crew on the upcoming Indie film Seclusion, due out in 2015.  Look here for more details on where you can see the film when it is released.

Clea has been having a blast playing Nina inn Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike at Bucks County Playhouse with this incredible group of actors:  Christopher Durang himself is playing Vanya, Marilu Henner is Masha, Deirdre Madigan is Sonia, Mahira Kakkar is Cassandra, and Jimmy Mason is Spike.  Photos of the production can be seen below or on Clea's "photos" section.

Clea recently got back from Florence, Italy, where she worked with The Continuum Company and created a seven person version of The Iliad, alongside an incredible ensemble of actors.  She had a wonderful time in that beautiful city and the piece was a huge success, both in its creation and final product.

Clea is thrilled to announce that she has been cast in the upcoming New York Premiere of Sarah Ruhl's Stage Kiss, directed by Rebecca Taichman and featuring an incredible cast:

Jessica Hecht, Dominic Fumusa, Patrick Kerr, Michael Cyril Creighton, and Emma Galvin.

Previews begin February 7th with an official opening of March 2nd.

Casting has been announced for the New York premiere of Sarah Ruhl's Stage Kiss, which will play Off-Broadway atPlaywrights Horizons.



Preview performances will begin Feb. 7, 2014, prior to an official opening March 2.Stage Kiss will continue through March 23.

Directed by Rebecca Taichman (Milk Like Sugar, Marie Antoinette, Orlando, The Scene, Luck of the Irish), the cast will include Clea Alsip (L(y)RE), Michael Cyril Creighton (The Vietnamization of NJ,Blood Play, "Jack in the Box"), SAG Award nominee Dominic Fumusa (Passion Play,Tape, Take Me Out, [sic], "Nurse Jackie"), Emma Galvin (Lidless, Our Town,Blood Play), Tony Award nominee Jessica Hecht (The Assembled Parties,A View From the Bridge, Harvey, The Last Night of Ballyhoo) and Patrick Kerr (The Ritz, Endgame, The Warrior Ant, Jeffrey, The Devils).

One final cast member will be announced in the coming weeks.

Here's how the production is billed: "Art imitates Life. Life imitates Art. When two actors (Hecht and Fumusa) with a history are thrown together as romantic leads in a forgotten 1930s melodrama, they quickly lose touch with reality as the story onstage follows them offstage. Sarah Ruhl's singular voice returns to Playwrights Horizons with Stage Kiss, a charming tale about what happens when lovers share a stage kiss — or when actors share a real one."

Two-time Pulitzer Prize finalist Ruhl's writing credits also include Dead Man's Cell Phone, Eurydice, The Clean House and In the Next Room (or the vibrator play).

Stage Kiss marks a reunion for Ruhl and Taichman, who previously collaborated on Orlando in 2010.

The production will feature scenic design by two-time Obie Award winner Neil Patel, costume design by Tony Award winner Susan Hilferty, lighting design by Jane Cox and sound design by Matt Hubbs. The production stage manager is Cole P. Bonenberger.

Clea is having an incredible time in Dorset, Vermont, with the fabulous cast and crew of Clybourne Park.  The theater company is basically set in paradise among the Vermont mountains and the staff of the theater has truly taken care of them.  It's a wonderful place to work.

Clybourne opened last Friday to an extremely enthusiastic audience and has continued to run to standing ovations since then.  Clea finds it an exhilarating play to perform and is so grateful to tell this story with these people to this community.  

They have two more weeks here in Dorset and then the cast and set move to Barrington Stage in Pittsfield, MA, where they run from September 26th to October 13th.

Clea has been having a blast in rehearsals for The Show-Off.  She's gotten to play alongside Jayne Houdyshell, Will Rogers, Mia Barron, Karl Baker Olson, Adam LeFevre, Nat DeWolf, Robert Eli, and Marc Vietor, enjoying herself immensely.  The director, Nicholas Martin, has also been a true inspiration.

Clea was invited last week to take part in NPR and PRI's podcast recording of Selected Shorts, recorded in front of a live audience at Symphony Space.  Selected Shorts has had their stories read by such actors as Cynthia Nixon, John Lithgow, Cambpell Scott, Parker Posey, Jill Eickenberry, Alec Baldwin, and Steven Colbert to name just a few.  Clea was honored to be included among such a prestigious group of actors.
